Roy Brown breaks away to the south and begins a climbing turn over the Ridge by Corbie. May pulls up over the ridge as von Richthofen continues the chase for a few moments but with both guns now inoperable, he turns east, by the Australian guns and, hit as he pulls back over the Ridge, attempts a crash landing by the Saint Colette Brickworks.
