De Ritmeester begint eraan, ondanks Nummer II en omringende bevelen over zijn persoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Om 7.35 uur stuit hij op een buitengewoon moedige tegenstander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVerwikkeld in een squadrongevecht met Sopwith monoplanes met 5 vliegtuigen van Squadron 11, viel ik een van de tegenstanders aan op 3500 meter hoogte en dwong hem na een vrij lange bocht te landen in de buurt van Bousbeque. Ik was er absoluut van overtuigd dat ik een zeer vaardige piloot voor me had, die zich zelfs op een hoogte van 50 m niet overgaf, opnieuw schoot en, terwijl hij nog zweefde, een colonne onder vuur nam, waarna hij zijn machine opzettelijk tegen een boom rolde.
