Om 1400 uur, kort nadat ik een Engelsman had gedwongen te landen aan de westkant van Bourlon Wood, viel ik een DH5 aan ten noorden van Fontaine (Notre Dame) op ongeveer 100 meter hoogte. Na de eerste schoten begon de Engelsman naar beneden te glijden, maar viel toen in de zuidoosthoek van Bourlon Wood. Ik kon niet waarnemen dat het vliegtuig de grond raakte.
