“Gevechtsverslag: 1130 uur, boven Menchy. Vickers \u00e9\u00e9nzitter No. 7929. Motor: Gn\u00f4me 30413. Inzittende: Arthur Gerald Knight, luitenant RFC gesneuveld. Kostbaarheden ingesloten; \u00e9\u00e9n machinegeweer meegenomen. Rond 1130 viel ik, samen met vier vliegtuigen en op 3.000 meter hoogte, vijandelijk \u00e9\u00e9nzits squadron boven Menchy aan. Na wat kromme gevechten slaagde ik erin de tegenstander tot op 1.500 meter te drukken, waar ik hem op het nippertje aanviel (vliegtuiglengte). Ik zag onmiddellijk dat ik de vijand had geraakt; eerst ging hij in bochten naar beneden, toen stormde hij naar de grond. Ik achtervolgde hem tot 100 meter boven de grond. Dit vliegtuig was alleen door mij aangevallen.
