“Gevechtsverslag: 1500 uur, ten zuiden van Bapaume. Vickers \u00e9\u00e9nzitter, vliegtuig ligt bij Bapaume. Inzittende: Major hawker, dood Ik viel, samen met twee andere vliegtuigen, een Vickers eenzitter aan op 3.000 meter hoogte. Na een lang bochtengevecht van drie tot vijf minuten had ik mijn tegenstander tot op 500 meter gedwongen. Hij probeerde nu te ontsnappen en vloog naar het front. Ik zette de achtervolging in en haalde hem neer na 900 schoten.
