Le mod\u00e8le de s\u00e9rie, dont seuls quelques exemplaires ont \u00e9t\u00e9 construits, \u00e9tait le D.II, \u00e9quip\u00e9 d'un moteur Mercedes D.II plus puissant et d'un radiateur dans l'aile \u00e0 la place de l'unit\u00e9 d'origine mont\u00e9e dans le nez. Ces appareils ont servi pendant quelques mois \u00e0 partir de juin 1916 avant d'\u00eatre remplac\u00e9s par le D.III, qui se distinguait principalement par ses ailerons plus grands \u00e9quilibr\u00e9s par des cornes et son moteur Argus AS.II en ligne de 89 kW (120 ch). Quelques D.IV ont \u00e9t\u00e9 produits pour la Turquie avec deux canons et un moteur Benz Bz.III de 112 kW (150 ch), et le D.V de 1917 \u00e9tait un mod\u00e8le perfectionn\u00e9 avec un fuselage plus a\u00e9rodynamique recouvert de contreplaqu\u00e9 et un moteur As.II.
