\u2026Un jour de juin 1917, le Rittmeister Manfred Freiherr von Richthofen a atterri \u00e0 Breslau-Gandau et c’est l\u00e0 que j’ai fait sa connaissance, d’o\u00f9 il s’est envol\u00e9 pour rejoindre sa famille (m\u00e8re et s\u0153ur) qui vivait \u00e0 Schweidnitz, pr\u00e8s de Breslau. Il m’a demand\u00e9 de piloter un avion jusqu’\u00e0 Schweidnitz, qu’il souhaitait \u00e9galement utiliser pour des visites de service. J’ai acc\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 sa demande et j’ai ainsi fait la connaissance de la famille Richthofen. Lors d’une visite ult\u00e9rieure \u00e0 Breslau-Gandau, von Richthofen m’a dit qu’il pourrait m’utiliser au mieux dans son Jasta 11 et m’a demand\u00e9 si je voulais le rejoindre. J’ai bien s\u00fbr accept\u00e9.
