\u00ab Rapport de combat : 0755 hrs. Vers 7 h 55, accompagn\u00e9 de quatre avions du Staffel 11, j’ai poursuivi un petit vol de Nieuports. Apr\u00e8s une longue poursuite, j’ai attaqu\u00e9 un adversaire et apr\u00e8s un court combat, j’ai tir\u00e9 sur son moteur et son r\u00e9servoir d’essence. L’avion est parti en vrille. Je l’ai suivi jusqu’\u00e0 ce qu’il soit juste au-dessus du sol et j’ai tir\u00e9 une derni\u00e8re fois, de sorte que l’avion s’est \u00e9cras\u00e9 au sud-ouest de la for\u00eat d’Houthulst et s’est enfonc\u00e9 dans le sol. Alors que je me trouvais \u00e0 environ 50 m\u00e8tres derri\u00e8re lui, j’ai travers\u00e9 un nuage de gaz provenant de l’explosion qui m’a emp\u00each\u00e9 de voir pendant un court instant.
