\u00ab\u00a0Rapport de combat : 1600 hrs. BE biplace n\u00b0 6742. Au-dessus des tranch\u00e9es, \u00e0 un kilom\u00e8tre au sud-ouest de Thelus. Occupants : Lieutenant Murray – Lieutenant McBar, tous deux bless\u00e9s et d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9s le 2 f\u00e9vrier.<\/p>\n

Vers 16h00, j’ai rep\u00e9r\u00e9, volant avec le Leutnant Allmenr\u00f6der, \u00e0 1 800 m\u00e8tres d’altitude, un pilote d’artillerie. J’ai r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 l’approcher \u00e0 moins de 50 m\u00e8tres, apparemment sans me faire remarquer, avec ma machine Halberstadt. A cette distance, de la longueur d’un avion, j’ai tir\u00e9 150 coups de feu. L’avion ennemi s’est alors \u00e9cras\u00e9 dans de grands virages \u00e0 droite incontr\u00f4l\u00e9s, poursuivi par Allmenr\u00f6der et moi-m\u00eame. L’avion s’est \u00e9cras\u00e9 sur les barbel\u00e9s de nos lignes de front. Les occupants sont tous deux bless\u00e9s et sont faits prisonniers par l’infanterie. Il est impossible d’enlever l’avion.
