Rapport de combat : 12 h 15, \u00e0 l’ouest de Vimy. Moteur fixe : Avion no 6937 ; moteur no 748. Occupants : Pilote – Capitaine Craig. (Obs) Lieutenant McLennan.<\/p>\n

Accompagn\u00e9 du Feldwebel (Hans) Howe, j’ai attaqu\u00e9, vers 1215, l’avion de commandement d’une formation ennemie. Apr\u00e8s un long combat, j’ai forc\u00e9 mon adversaire \u00e0 atterrir pr\u00e8s de Vimy. Les occupants ont br\u00fbl\u00e9 leur avion apr\u00e8s l’atterrissage. Moi-m\u00eame, j’ai d\u00fb atterrir, car une aile s’\u00e9tait fissur\u00e9e \u00e0 300 m\u00e8tres. Je pilotais un Albatros DIII. D’apr\u00e8s l’\u00e9quipage anglais, mon avion peint en rouge ne leur est pas inconnu, car lorsqu’on leur a demand\u00e9 qui les avait abattus, ils ont r\u00e9pondu : \u00ab\u00a0Le petit rouge\u00a0\u00bb. Deux mitrailleuses ont \u00e9t\u00e9 saisies par mon Staffel. L’avion ne valait pas la peine d’\u00eatre enlev\u00e9 car il \u00e9tait compl\u00e8tement br\u00fbl\u00e9.
