\u00ab\u00a0Rapport de combat : 1625 hrs, au-dessus de Ficheux, au sud d’Arras. Le FE biplace a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9truit, le num\u00e9ro etc. n’est pas reconnaissable.<\/p>\n

A 1615, cinq avions de notre Staffel ont attaqu\u00e9 l’escadrille ennemie au sud d’Arras. L’ennemi s’est approch\u00e9 de nos lignes, mais a \u00e9t\u00e9 repouss\u00e9. Apr\u00e8s quelques combats, j’ai r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 attaquer un biplace Vickers tr\u00e8s courageux. Apr\u00e8s 300 tirs, l’avion ennemi a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 tomber, sans contr\u00f4le. J’ai poursuivi le plan jusqu’\u00e0 1 000 m\u00e8tres au-dessus du sol. L’avion ennemi s’est \u00e9cras\u00e9 au sol du c\u00f4t\u00e9 ennemi, \u00e0 un kilom\u00e8tre derri\u00e8re les tranch\u00e9es pr\u00e8s de Ficheux. (probablement) Capt. JB Quested (WIA) ; Lt. HJH Dicksee (indemne) (Certaines sources affirment qu’il s’agit du Sgt. James McCudden du No.29 Squadron, \u00e0 bord d’un DH.2.) Quested\/Dicksee ont \u00e9t\u00e9 abattus \u00e0 11 h 20, \u00e0 12 km \u00e0 l’est de Ficheux (probablement contre Jasta 1), \u00e0 l’int\u00e9rieur des lignes alli\u00e9es. Richthofen a revendiqu\u00e9 sa mort \u00e0 16 h 25 [2] McCudden, qui est retourn\u00e9 \u00e0 la base, confirme la p\u00e9riode.
