\u00ab Rapport de combat : 1115 hrs Givenchy. Sopwith biplace A2401. Moteur : Clerget Blin sans num\u00e9ro, Type 2. Occupants : Sergent Dunn et lieutenant Warrens. Avec les lieutenants Voss et Lothar von Richthofen, j’ai attaqu\u00e9 une escadrille ennemie de huit Sopwith au-dessus de la couverture nuageuse ferm\u00e9e du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l’ennemi. L’avion que j’avais rep\u00e9r\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 chass\u00e9 de son escadron et est progressivement pass\u00e9 de notre c\u00f4t\u00e9. L’avion ennemi a tent\u00e9 de s’\u00e9chapper et de se cacher dans les nuages apr\u00e8s que j’ai perc\u00e9 son r\u00e9servoir de benzine. Sous les nuages, je l’ai imm\u00e9diatement attaqu\u00e9 \u00e0 nouveau, l’obligeant ainsi \u00e0 atterrir \u00e0 300 m\u00e8tres \u00e0 l’est de Givenchy. Mais mon adversaire ne se rendait toujours pas et, alors m\u00eame que sa machine \u00e9tait au sol, il continuait \u00e0 me tirer dessus, touchant ainsi tr\u00e8s s\u00e9v\u00e8rement ma machine \u00e0 une altitude de cinq m\u00e8tres. Je l’ai \u00e0 nouveau attaqu\u00e9, alors qu’il \u00e9tait au sol, et j’ai tu\u00e9 l’un des occupants.
