Je volais avec plusieurs de mes coll\u00e8gues lorsque j’ai vu une escadrille ennemie passer devant notre front. Outre cette escadrille, deux nouveaux monoplaces que je ne connaissais pas volaient \u00e0 proximit\u00e9. Ils \u00e9taient extr\u00eamement rapides et maniables. J’ai attaqu\u00e9 l’un d’eux et j’ai constat\u00e9 que ma machine \u00e9tait la meilleure. Apr\u00e8s un long combat, j’ai r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 toucher le char de l’adversaire. L’h\u00e9lice s’est arr\u00eat\u00e9e de tourner. L’avion a d\u00fb s’\u00e9craser. Comme le combat s’\u00e9tait d\u00e9roul\u00e9 au-dessus des tranch\u00e9es, mon adversaire tenta de s’\u00e9chapper, mais je r\u00e9ussis \u00e0 l’obliger \u00e0 atterrir derri\u00e8re nos lignes, pr\u00e8s de Givenchy. L’avion s’est retourn\u00e9, dans un trou d’obus, \u00e0 l’envers, et a \u00e9t\u00e9 pris par nos troupes.
