Dans l’ensemble, je pense que Manfred \u00e9tait content d’avoir quitt\u00e9 le Grand Quartier G\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Pour lui, le soldat de premi\u00e8re ligne endurci, des r\u00e9ceptions comme celle \u00e0 laquelle il avait \u00e9t\u00e9 ordonn\u00e9 le 1er mai n’\u00e9taient pas un duel d’\u00e9dification. Il n’aimait pas l’air poli et (comme il l’a fait remarquer avec un soupir drolatique) \u00ab n’\u00e9tait pas du tout fait pour le m\u00e9tier d’adjudant d’aile \u00bb.
