„Gefechtsbericht: 1315 Uhr. Hof Struywe, Platz V.42., diesseits der Linie. RE2 (verbrannt). Begleitet von meiner Staffel griff ich 2.500 Meter n\u00f6rdlich von Ypern, auf dieser Seite der Linie, eine englische Artillerie RE an. Ich feuerte aus k\u00fcrzester Entfernung etwa 200 Sch\u00fcsse ab, woraufhin ich \u00fcber das feindliche Flugzeug hinwegzoomte. In diesem Moment bemerkte ich, dass sowohl der Pilot als auch der Beobachter tot in ihrer Maschine lagen. Das Flugzeug flog weiter, ohne zu fallen, in unkontrollierten Kurven auf den Boden zu. Vom Wind getrieben, st\u00fcrzte es auf den Bauernhof von Struywe, wo es nach dem Aufprall auf dem Boden zu brennen begann.
