„Er sagte in seinem Bericht, dass der Pilot in der Luft ums Leben gekommen sei und der Beobachter schwer verletzt worden sei, als die B.E.2 in deutsche Sch\u00fctzengr\u00e4ben st\u00fcrzte. Das Gegenteil war der Fall. Der Beobachter, Leutnant H. A. Croft, war wahrscheinlich sofort tot. Der Pilot, Leutnant C. D. Bennett, erlitt bei dem Absturz jedoch eine Fraktur der Sch\u00e4delbasis, wodurch alle Erinnerungen an seine Begegnung mit Richthofen ausgel\u00f6scht wurden. Er wurde schlie\u00dflich Gesch\u00e4ftsmann in London, verlor jedoch f\u00fcr immer die Erinnerung an die Ereignisse des 14.
